Does anyone know if this part number is for the mobo?

    1JJVN Service Kit,Planar,Arrandale,USB2.0,M6500,Third Party Maintenance

If it is, does it support XM clarksfield cpu's? I ask because it specifically says Arrandale.

Has anybody replaced a glossy edge-to-edge RGB LCD screen for a matte screen (perhaps not edge-to-edge)?

    What were the results like?

I have received a new M6500, covet with glossy WUXGA RGB screen and I much prefer the matte screen of my other M6500s and M6400s.

Is there a glass on top of the screen in my machine? Or does the screen come integrated with the front glass?

If there is a glass on top of the monitor then the present monitor could be used and it is just a matter of removing the glass and putting a bezel.

This is exactly the question I already asked, but I got no usable answer ... AFAIK the screen is the same in both, E2E and AG version ... but I found no info if anyone was tried to remove the glass and put the bezel on covet versions ...

Just recently I discovered that I have some problems with USB devices, and I'm hoping you will help me to locate the problem. The problem is, that when I push the WLAN switch to ON I receive following error baloon from windows (see pictures), saying that one of the USB devices is not recognized etc. But I don't have anything connected to USB, so what could cause this "unknown device"? If I push the WLAN switch to OFF, this problem is gone ... All USB ports seems to work normally either the WLAN switch is ON or OFF. Also WLAN works normally when the switch is ON. Am I missing some drivers for some internal device? How do I operate with integrated bluetooth module? Thank you!

I couldn't find any useful latest drivers on Intel's page, but I have installed latest chipset drivers from Dell support site Chipset Software Installation Utility 9.1.1.1025, A02 from date 05/01/2011, but after installation problem is still here ... Any more ideas?

If the problem is happening when you hit the wireless switch it makes sense that you have some devices with drivers missing that are activated via the wireless switch. As far as I know, the Bluetooth, wireless USB, and mobile broadband are connected to the switch as well as the main wifi card. I suggest that you check in the BIOS in the first page to see if it says you have any of these extra devices installed besides the basic wireless card. If you do, download the drivers for them at the dell website. Also, if you have USB 3.0 you really should update your drivers and firmware as the posted Dell drivers are ancient and the USB 3.0 card had a lot of problems initially. Get the driver and firmware here:

I have checked in the BIOS and there was only bluetooth module which was not installed in windows ... So I download drivers (Wireless 365 Bluetooth Module) on Dell site, tried to install them but when installing I get message window "activate bluetooth using wlan switch", but when I hit the switch, I get the same error baloon mentioned before, and message window "activate bluetooth using wlan switch" doesn't go away even when waiting almost 1/2 hour and only thing I can do is click on "cancel installation" ... So looks like I have some problems with bluetooth module ... Are there any newer bluetooth drivers for M6500, because this one on Dell site are old (from 2009) ... Is bluetooth module integrated on the motherboard or is it separated mini card, simple to replace? Because I could not find instructions to replace this module on Dell site ... Thank you!

If you don't need 4 memory slots, you could just use that board; it will support both Arrandale and Clarksfield CPUs, it just doesn't have the extra 2 memory slots that the Quad-core board does.
