I once had problems with GPU throttling in games (it was so heavy that the sound was skipping) on my M6400 and it was because of the dust buildup in the exhaust. Just aligned my mouth against the opening and blew as hard as I could a few times and it was up and running in no time.

My exhaust is squeaky clean. I clean it once a month, the dust build up is almost non existent since I only use it on hard flat surfaces.

Just not sure of how you got it to throttle. I have the Quadro 3800M and 920XM processor. I could not make mine throttle in any real world situation when I was testing the heck out of the M6500 around this time last year. There have been very few if any other reports of throttling on an M6500. Are you using a 210 thin or 210/240 (thick) watt power adapter? What power setting are you using? Just trying to figure this out.

    High performance for power setting.
The previous video card (before replacement) never throttled one bit, just had an issue with the LVDS port and the original LCD. The replacement has shown throttling since day 1. So yeah I am thinking a bad GPU or perhaps bad GPU bios.

Thank you all for your answers

I've searched the web for days and finally found a 20% discount if payment done via an American express card (avaible for France). So, i've decided to go for the HP !
    I will order the "minimal" configuration for my needs (Photoshop + lightroom + music editing), ie i5 560M + 2GB RAM + 250 GB HDD + 500 GB HDD in bay 2 + 17' DC2 screen.
    I will order separately a Vertex 2 60G SSD + 8 GB RAM G Skill.

    Thanks again
    Sam

Sounds like a bad part. I hate that you have to deal with it. Maybe someone on this thread can pull their 2800M bios revision for you to compare to yours.
