I think Dell is a bit more flexible/understandable about warranty validation when customer opens his Dell hardware, sometimes they even send you new a piece of hardware with manual how to replace it yourself ... you can also download service manuals for your laptop from Dell's site, there you have all step-by-step instructions how to remove/replace parts in your computer ... But anyway, if you still have it under warranty, why not use it?

Sounds like too much heat may be staying in your computer. Several possible causes.

Do both fans turn on? When it is warm do you feel air coming out of both vents?

If the fans are spinning are you blocking the air intakes on the bottom of the machine? You should use the machine on a hard flat surface. Your legs/carpet/blanket/soft laptop pad/etc can block the vents.

If both fans are spinning and nothing is blocking any of the vents on the bottom of the machine, are you running something like Throttlestop to overclock the machine? You can use this kind of software to generate more heat than your machine can get rid of. This can damage the machine.

If you are not overclocking, both fans are spinning, nothing is blocking airflow, and are still not sure of whats up - call tech support. They will be able to do diagnostics over the phone to see if it is a thermal event causing the problems.

Please check under advanced battery settings under "Processor" make sure the cooling is set to active not passive for ALL the power modes for both AC power/bettery: power saver, balanced, high performance, and Dell Extended Battery life.

In the end I have decided to keep the quad core unit because, among other reasons, I want to keep the, potential, option of using a 640M on it, open.

Try also going back to an earlier Restore Point. Save your data first and try to use the restore point just before a program installation or update that did not go fully well, if any.

"I have even a ventilation aluminium platform with big fans, but i doesnt make too much for fixing the problem"

Ok - this might sound crazy - do the fans in your aluminum platform blow towards the computer or pull air away from it? You want to make sure the air is blowing into the bottom of the computer. You want to make sure the platform is not working against the fans in the M6500.

The only place that might get this hot on the laptop is right where the dock connects on the bottom. The very back by the fans can also get warm, but not as much as the dock connector area. No place on the computer should ever get hot enough to actually burn you. They might feel really warm, but never hot enough to burn skin.
