    It seems that some people just don't believe anything. If you go back and look through my posts you will see that I have never given out false information nor have I misrepresented who I am. Everything I have stated on the M4500 and M6500 are true. If you lived near me in Austin I would be happy to take an Arrandale CPU, put it on a Clarksfield motherboard and show you that it only works with 2 DIMM slots.
    As for the 32GB of system memory, all I'm stating is that Dell was the first, and as far as I know, the only notebook to support this on a mobile chipset.
    I guess some people will always want something to argue about. No offense to anyone but I'm done with this subject.

    Well, actually I tend not to believe in anything without good sources. And, sorry to say that, up to now you provided none. I cited some Intel docs hoping you could see my point or at least point me to my fault in interpreting them.
    And to be honest, somehow I had the hope that you could shed some light on the other issues I brought up.

    I'm not charging you for lying. I just think that you don't fully understand the consequences of Intels documents.
    And I'm aware, that you could say the same about me. ;)

    Frankly thats a bit too far for me. But if you could put an Arrandale on a Clarksfield motherboard anyway, add 4 DIMMs of RAM to it, boot it and show me the output of dmidecode --type memory I'd be very pleased to see the result, no matter what it is.

    I'm not criticizing this. I'm criticizing the way Dell advertises this. In the article you linked it sounds like it's some technical revolution invented by Dell. But it isn't. Dell just takes advantage of the usual progress in technology. This is fine, and it's indeed a real achievement by Dell to be the first to do that. But a little more modesty and the confession that others than Dell (e.g. the module manufacturers) did their bit to it would be nice.

    @debguy:

    If you don't like the product, such as it is, why not return it and purchase something more to your liking?

    @havoctex:

    Thanks for your contributions. They are appreciated.

    Oh, I like the product very much. Or is this statement somehow misleading?:

    Ahhh, see I did not know this. Thanks Havoctex. :) +1

    And yes, on the system I tested, only two of the slots were populated.

    Did you set the power plan to "high performance"?

    There is a bios update for the samsung SSDs on support.dell.com.
    Read the release notes, as some SSD bios updates delete all the data.

    Switching SATA mode from RAID to AHCI is likely that you need to reinstall Windows. There are some documented hacks in the web which seem to work for some but not all.

    So you might backup the SSD data, udate the samsung bios, switch to AHCI, reinstall Windows and then measure the performance again - nevertheless I have no idea if that procedure gives your SSD any additional performance :D
