I had the same problem and while having that problem I wasn't able to even use USB 2.0 devices on those ports. You may want to try them just to make sure they are even working.

This is why I just received my 3rd replacement. Which has an LG screen I might add!

Just a heads up in case anyone has had this issue.
My Wireless Network Connector decided to stop working today. I don't use it a lot so I was confused when it connected but failed to find the DNS server and would not allow internet browsing.

The issue turned out to be the Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter which, once disabled, allowed the world to be a happy place once again.

Not sure how/when it got enabled but it fixed the issue for me. Interested to know if anyone has both enabled without an issue.

on my "old" Dell M90, I had to press <FN>+F2 to turn off WIFI/Bluetooth adapter.

There seems to be no such possibility with the M6500, does it?

(I'm asking, because, I am in search for any driver/background service issues, that causes audio droputs every now and then. I'm using Cubase/ASIO and rely on a constant ASIO audio stream without dropouts. Even when I set ASIO buffer size to maximum, I get dropouts with the system being nearly idle. I already checked DPC latency checker, no issues found, so I guess it has to do with some background service or driver, that causes the droputs, but I don't know how to sort this out. I deactivated one device after the other in device manager, rebooted and checked, but I get the dropouts everytime...)

    Hi TabSel,

there is a wifi on/off toggle on the right side underneath the pccard slot. Its off when you see a red background behind that switch.

Did you install the audio driver from dell? Several (if not all) people report problems with that driver. Uninstall it and use the built in driver from Win7 to see if that works better for you.

A switch? Never read about or saw it! Will have a look, thank you!

I get the dropouts with ASIO4ALL Driver with internal sound card and with a separate USB Audio Interface and its dedicated ASIO Driver, even after disabling the internal sound card (and thus the Dell driver)

It has to be a background service I guess... But which? ...

Just a heads up for anyone on here who is interested.
I just switched my OS drive from a OCZ Vertex SSD 120GB to the Vertex 2 240GB.

As you can see the drive pretty much maxes out the SATA3 interface, there is a slight improvement in boot and load times and the 4k writes see a 400% improvement which is probably what helps most.

    Before and after benchmarks:
Queue depth is 4 using ATTO one of the few accurate SSD benchmark tools.

The vertex2 from Newegg is about $650 which is not bad for a 240GB drive.
I dont know if it is worth it as the Vertex1 is extremely quick as well but just goes to show you how much prices have come down.

Are vertex2 performances on your laptop the same than those in reviews on the web? I remember somebody suggesting that sata performances were worst on M6500 compared to desktop computers.

I know that's quite a long time but better late than never. I had sun this morning, so I tested LG screen. My eyes didn't see any shift, so it looks like this screen has no additionnal sensor. By the way I saw that even cleaned with a special product (Fellowes), the screen was dirty with a lot of smears. :(
