hmmm, well I'll be a monkey's uncle... very interesting! :D

    8.0GB, DDR3-1600MHz SDRAM, 2 DIMMS
    4.0GB, DDR3-1600MHz SDRAM, 2 DIMMS

You'll let us know of course what your DELL rep says? It sure looks like it is available in 4GB modules according to their online store. They have been doing alot of changes to the online store lately, I hope it is not a typo. If this is available in 4GB DIMMS then I think I may visit pricewatch.com and see about purchasing a couple of them. Anyone know the pin count on those modules?

    Thanks

    Ben

*edit: looking back over some of the older posts and system quotes... I see that the 8GB 1600Mhz option was indeed and always has been shown as a 2 SO-DIMM option... meaning 4GB modules. I do apologize, MannyA, for sounding doubtful. [reps awarded to you ;)] And this is, of course, excellent news. It means I should be able to upgrade to 12gb of 1600Mhz RAM. The system I ordered is coming with 4 gig.

Also, I saw in a previous post that gradx had already answered the question about how many pins. And the answer is "204" :) http://forum.notebookreview.com/showpost.php?p=5676440&postcount=323

MannyA, please still let us know what you learn about the possibility of ordering above 8GB 1600 direct from DELL.

    Yes I will,

the 2x(4GB) set is the way to go. So when you are up grading your RAM to 16GB You will only need 8GB of RAM, instead of replacing all of your RAM.

    Hi ygohome,

When upgrading your RAM, you should upgrade your Ram in pairs. 2x (4GB), 2x (2GB) for Maximum Performance.

Guys, when you mention what you see or don't see on the Dell page remember to say which country you are looking from. For example, the European Dell pages usually have different options than American pages (and not only in keyboard and OS language, I mean different CPU options for example).

I remember for example that when I bought my E6400 the P9600 was already available on the US page but not on the EU pages.

Anyone had a M6500 with ssd delivered yet, can they tell me what model and performance it gets, dell dont want to tell me.
