spill, that's odd....idk, I'd probably tried uninstalling all that stuff, killing any virus program, and reinstalling it if you haven't done so already. Sounds like some kind of glitch/conflict at start up....(obviously duh...:)

I'm slightly confused. What is the difference between driver 8.16.11.8843, A02 and 189.21, A03 ISV for NVIDIA? ISV replaces the previous driver? But why is it still possible to install the A02 version?

    hey guys,

havent read all that much of the thread cause its pretttty long, but was hoping someone could help me out with getting some kinda discount on the M6500.

im pretty sure this is the exact laptop i am looking for. i need it basically just for online poker, but it needs to be a pretty hardcore laptop. i dont want a gaming laptop, but 1920x1200 resolution is a must for me. i play a ton of tables of online poker, and use a "HUD" which displays stats on each table, and gets those stats from my database of played hands. i will be getting a SSD, and 8gb ram. any i7 should be good enough for me i believe.

thanks a lot if anyone can help :)

    Jesse

Go into the BIOS setup. There is a setting for what wireless devices can be controlled by the switch on the side of the computer. Make sure that you have Bluetooth checked.

Just a random FYI. Currently streaming 6 simultaneous h.264 live video streams at 50k, 150k, 250k, 300k, 500k, and 800k to a Flash Media Interactive Server. The M6500 is peaking around 75% processor usage. What took 3 computers in December now takes 1 - I am a happy camper.

It must be controlled by the BT software. I recently rebuilt my machine when I moved from Adobe CS4 to CS5 and have not installed the BT software yet. The BT light is not on. I will try installing it Monday. I don't make any changes to a machine when I am using it for 2 full days of live video streaming.

do you have the connection manager installed? I didn't install mine after the wipe since everyone called it bloatware, so I wonder if that is the reason. On the flip side though, after I put the 6300 wifi card in the laptop the only thing that changed with my wifi light was the occasional blinking for a while (an hour or so) when I would restore my pc from sleep.

Mine stayed on before and after connection manager was removed. I guess it's in the BT software somewhere...I too have it checked in the BIOS. I use BT everyday so I haven't worried about it much. (BT Mouse)

well i went to do a BT driver reinstall and dell in all their glory managed to upload a new driver set without updating the main page so I thought I was downloading the old drivers from before, but these drivers were actually posted in February not December and they came with a firmware update that has left my Bluetooth useless and completely unrecognized by windows beyond being a "generic" BT adapter that cannot start.
