Ok working on the new quote and new order as I type and I'm now adding these new items, I maxed out the CPU, added 2,3 & 4 from above and added GPS even tho I tether my cell when I'm on the road. GPS will be useful. Were is the best place and price to get memory and hd's? Is this system have 204pin DDR3-1333 SDRAM modules? Oh and I removed the covet, to many issues with glare and I do heavy graphics work in my line of work among heavy multi-tasking.

    Thanks

newegg is where I bought my upgraded parts and yes it's the 204-pin DDR3 SO-DIMM. Damn online retailers dropped the price of my parts by a total of $50 since last week!

This is the Sager NP9280/Clevo D900F available from several online boutique resellers. It is over 12lb. I just weighed my m6500 and it's 8.6lb. The warranty isn't as good but it is considerably cheaper if you can't get the m6500 @ 30% discount.

Did you see the specs of the D900F, great gear at fair prices, not bloated prices like so called brand names. No?

The ? remains value for value / bang for buck and reliability + support what is better? I will be using this to make my living so it must work 100% of the time. Here are the new specs I'm working on and yes I am going to get a good discount or I will just not buy at all. You have been very helpful in giving me more of a direction on this purchase and I thank you for your help. In fact if not for this forum i no I would have made a mistake and returned it for sure.

MW2 runs at almost maxed out on the M6400 with the Nvidia 3700.
As well as Iracing at everything maxed. The 3800 will be a slight boost and should be able to play most any game almost maxed out.

    Just ordered...

    m6500 covet
    i7-920xm
    4gb ddr3-1600
non-raid with two 256 ssd (thought about the 64 mini pcie for os and apps but maybe sometime later)
    intel wifi 5300
    8xDVD+/-RW slot load
    4yr accidental
    4yr prosupport
210w adapter brick (for at home office)
210w/240w slim (for carrying in my bag)

fyi... i also got this with XP downgrade ...

[rant]most of my clients/contracts require XP. Two of the companies I do business with still use Oracle JInitiator 1.3 with Oracle Apps and neither Vista nor 7 work with jinitiator since it is dependent on Sun's old JDK 1.3 - and Sun has decommissioned 1.3 and therefore has no intention on making Vista nor Windows7 compatible with JDK1.3 and therefore Oracle's jinitiator is also incompatible with these later operating systems. Perhaps I need to look into some hacks to get it to work. But I'm trying to convince these IT departments to simply drop jinitiator (Oracle quit supporting it back in June, lol) and just go pure java (as if I have any say in the matter). Good news is that the executives are pushing for Windows 7 since they are also buying newer laptops. So there is hope for a 64bit os in this m6500 future :)[/rant]

Delivery is estimated to be Jan 20th :D
