Bokeh, have you received your M6500 or is it still in the testing stage?

This means that you can't put the notebook on a stand either as the back, which is usually sealed, blocks the vents too.....

With normal web surfing or working in Adobe Lightroom, my M6300 doesn't heat up too much even without a lap pad. I have used it on the train several times without issues. It will get too hot for a lap when gaming or encoding video in Premier.

I have owned 4 versions of this older 17" Dell platform from the Inspiron 9300, 9400, and M90 up to the M6300. All were about the same on heat as far as I can remember. All were a pain in the butt to clean when the fans and heatsinks needed cleaning.

I hate to hear that the M6500 gets really warm though. My other laptop is an E6500 and I know it can run very warm or very cool depending on how much of a load is on it. Hopefully the M6500 will be similar.

I really am looking forward to your review. I meant no disrespect earlier with my statements. I am sure that like a lot of people, you have seen a lot of machines and even companies come and go. Sorting out the good from the bad can be a tough job, and I am glad that your willing to post thorough reviews for the rest of us.

Can't wait for my M6500 to finally get here. I am still stuck in the testing stage with an estimated ship date of Dec 23rd.

I need to order the ancillary stuff so I wanna confirm:

Can I mix in two 2x4GB memory modules with the existing 2x2GB it came with, giving it a total of 12? All will be DDR3 1333.
