The card I was trying was a Dell pulled from an M18x, unfortunately I dont recall now the bios or other information about the card.

Atm i'm using a Dell 7970m that works like a charm.

    My friends.

It's DELL 780m card in Precision M6700. You can see subvendor on this screenshot:

    BTW. Optimus also works.

    Greetings from Poland :)

So I'll try to translate all needed informations from polish thread:

1* Dell 780m Card was pulled out from Alienware and plugged into M6700
    2* Card has original vbios
3* I am not sure about Heatsink compatibility. But I suppose that previously installed card in M6700 was Quadro
4* Arctic silver 5 was apllied
5* Card is not correctly recognized by Bios in M6700. It shows 'Unknown graphics card' (because of M6700 whitelist)
6* But M6700 is booting without any bluescreens and other errors
7* Official Nvidia drivers don't work
8* Card needs modded drivers (*.inf file) from site:
    LaptopVideo2Go: Drivers
9* Modded drivers, - ver 326.41 was aplied on Win7.
10* Win8 is blocking installer because modded driver is not digitally-signed by WHQL (but WHQL Windows checking can be disabled)
11* Optimus must be disabled in Bios before installing moded drivers

    Screens without OC:

Generic VGA video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3940XM,Dell Inc.

    2h of Farcry3, without OC:

    -max temp gpu: 78 *C
    -CPU XM!/GPU: 3400/3600rpm
    -much less noise than AW

    Screens with OC (+140MHz):

    Screens with OC (1100MHz, 90*C):
Generic VGA video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3940XM,Dell Inc.

I think that's all. I hope it will be helpfull. If you have more questions I can ask 'nilfhell'- he's an author of this mod.

    Regards and good luck.

P.S. I was hoping this mod can be done with M6600...
