What notebook are you currently using? What capacity/how old is the battery?

    Spotted a few things:
    • Larger touchpad
    • No more screen latches?
    • Possible switch to new chiclet KB design seen in other Latitudes
    • "New industrial design" - seems to borrow heavily from previous Latitude designs
    • 27.2mm thickness compared to the current ~40mm thickness of the current Precisions
    • Precision 5510 -> E6540 replacement?
    • Precision 3510 based off of new 2015 XPS 15

I guess these are replacements for the 6800/4800/2800/3800, left to right?

Thunderbolt confirmed (yay). I imagine that means there will have to be new docks too, with a Thunderbolt port. I'm really interested in the potential for a Thunderbolt attached "desktop GPU" enclosure.

Obviously a chasis change from the current models. Corners rounded a little. Slimmer (height).

I imagine the optical drive is gone, but that is not confirmed. (I know most people will be happy about that but I still use mine rather frequently.)

Can't tell if the keyboard is different. It looks the same to me (comparing to my M4800 right here) but it is really hard to tell from the small picture.

"Up to 3 internal storage solutions" on the 7710 sounds oddly low. The leaked motherboard shots showed connectors for two NGFF drives, so is there only one 2.5" drive bay?

Does Dell normally launch stuff in Germany and the USA at the same time ?

The world-wide rollout should be prompt.

It's possible they will place the system for sale in September but there will be a 2 or 3 week lag before the systems actually start shipping, so no one may actually see one until October.

The memory is overclocked, not the CPU.

Yeah, noticed that. Still, would be nice to squeeze out some free CPU perf but it's never going to happen.

Hmm, yes, real docks are now possible even for the 3510. Nice, now we're talking. Too bad they didn't do these "infinity displays" for the larger models. Given that I don't need those monster graphics anymore, and a 1TB PCI SSD will work fine for me, the 3510 might actually be for me. Otherwise it's the 7710. Assuming they can be ordered with Windows 7, and if the docking options are decent, I'll get one or the other by the end of the year.
