I am looking at getting an M6800 4810MQ. Can anyone recommend RAM modules? It is coming with 8GB 1600. I am looking to upgrade to 32GB. I read through all the posts and did not see any recommendations, unless i missed it.

    thanks

I got it from a fellow member, @TBoneSan , on this forum. It was a great bargain!

Hey TBoneSan, since I got the card from you in Mar/Apr 2015 it basically sat around doing nothing. During the Christmas break I finally got the time, with a new heatsink that needs no modifications, and installed it! Works flawlessly! :)

    thanks.

Is the ballistic better than the regular 1600 crucial? The ballistic is out of stock.

    Also, anyone try these Kingston?

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...rue&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

    or these

    http://www.amazon.com/Kingston-Hype...p/B00KQCOTCM/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top?ie=UTF8

Per Kingston website, the KTD-L3CL/8G and HX316LS9IB/8 are compatible with the M6800.

    thanks

You can try Amazon or fleabay. Heaps there!

The Ballistic Sports are better than the regular 1600 crucial.

Never tried the Kingstons, so I can't help you there.

Anyone having issues with their webcam in Win10? I never really noticed if the webcam worked in Win8.1, should have paid attention previously.

I ran the diagnostics, available in the F12 menu during bootup, and it came back ok.

I looked into the hidden devices in Device Manager and it showed up there and says it is disconnected. I tried uninstalling it and it never came back.

However, there is this constant "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed" under the USB controllers.

Could it be a loose connection? Anyone can help me on this one?

Mine seems to be working fine, although my Win10 is a fresh install and not the Dell image.

    Unrelated:
Are there any way to buy a firepro w7170m, like the one used in the Precision 7710?

Mine's a fresh install too. Clearly it must have detected the webcam during the initial setup, as it is showing up under the hidden devices. From what I read on the internet, it usually fixes itself when we force it to uninstall and re-scan for devices. Seems like it did not work in my case.

    I'll check the connections.

Not sure about the w7170m. I'm on a GTX980m at the moment. Try eBay or Aliexpress.

Got my M6800 to replace my m6700. I have a few questions. It came with Win 7 pre-installed and was to come with Win 10. did I miss something on teh first boot and maybe there was an option to pick one or the other?

Legacy boot is enabled by default and not UEFI. Is this normal? Looks like I need to install win 10 from scratch if I want to use UEFI. Does that sound correct?

In win 7, it shows the intel graphics card. In the bios (F2) it shows intel. Do I need to change the video setting in the bios "Enable Switchabe Graphics." By default it is checked, if I uncheck it, then on reboot in the bios it shows the NVIDIA Card. On boot to windows looks like I need to install the NVDIA Drive.

    thanks
