I know in Australia they won't care about who "owns" the laptop. Just ring them up or use the live chat and give them the service tag.

What do people think about the LCD quality?

I think it is not that great, as when I look close at the screen, I can see horizontal lines between the pixels. It's not as bad as the XPS 15 1080p screen (2013 models), but I was disappointed. Unless I have a faulty screen???

    Hey everyone

I would like someones help on a problem I'm having with my m6800.

I was an owner of the m6700 covet, I love the machine but I had a small problem with my screen that dell wasn't able to fix properly even after replacing the screen 4 times so they decided to give me the m6800 that is equivalent in exchange. So far I'm super happy with this exchange as the m6800 is newer and better with the options that they're giving me. After receiving the m6800, my initial impression is that the screen is horrible in comparison to the m6700's IPS panel but I can live with that. Then I decide to remove both my hard drives from the m6700 ( HDD & SSD) and put them into my m6800 and when I do that my 6800 doesn't seem to read my SSD which has my windows on it and my programs. Why isn't it reading it?

I also decided to remove my ram that I had added in the 6700 and put it in the 6800 and when I do that the laptop doesn't even turn on anymore, it turns on for half a second and shuts off and then does that over and over again.

Does anyone know why its not reading my SSD and why its doing that with my ram?

Thank you and sorry for this long post!
    Serge

There are a lot of complaints on here about the display quality which made me hesitant to buy it but on the whole it's not as bad as some said. Do you have the LG screen? If I look close enough I can see the grid as well but it's not a deal breaker.

Not sure about your RAM - it may depend on the type but shouldn't. Are you trying to boot off your SSD? The new UEFI system may be preventing that. Do you have it set for legacy bios? F2 when you start up.

So I called Dell and they only care that you know whose name it is under. Anyway they came and replaced the bottom panel and frame. It took him a long time to get the panel off because if you can't remove the battery you can't remove the panel! But I'm very happy as he had to repaste the CPU and video card which gave me an 8 degree improvement under full load. Dell really needs to think about doing a proper paste job at the factory.

Check the sata settings in bios. And what drive it boots off first.

The m6800 needs low voltage memory. most dd3 won't work.

Just managed to get a HP K4100M off eBay. I am looking for the Dell K4100M vbios.

Anyone knows where I can locate a copy to update the HP card?

Hello, I just joined the club. I picked up an m6800 and I am trying to get it setup for a clean install. Im up to page 25 in the thread but I havent found the answers Im seeking.

Can anyone confirm that the m6800 is NOT compatible with msata over 512gb?
    Can I boot from 2 msata's in RAID 0?
