No, it was LVDS so I could use the P5000 with Optimus only. I ended up going back to M5000M because of unresolvable issues with the P5000. (Periodic BSOD.)

 

There are different versions available with 110 Watt (1035 - 1545 MHz), 150 Watt (1350 - 1770 MHz) and Max-Q variant 90, 85 and 80 Watt

Yes but the vbios installed on these RTX HP MXM card are rated at 90~110W

 

Of course taking into consideration that a Vbios EPROM should be soldered into the card.

 

Hello everyone!
I need help. Just bought GTX 970M 6GB for my Precision M6800 and now I'm unsuccessfuly trying to make it work properly (GPU photo - https://yadi.sk/i/R__MgcbcRLLI7A )
Tried every version of VBIOS that could be found on techpowerup. On the second day I finally have luck with drivers installation (version 436), but GPU still don't want to start.
I'm not very familiar with eDP/LVDS stuff but I now that I have 40pin connector on LCD (it means LVDS, right?). Optimus is enabled but I tried with disabled option also.
Boot mode is legacy.
System BIOS version is A26 now (tried with A13, A25)
Now driver`s installed, GPU shows in Device manager but it has warning sign and Device state message:
Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems (Code 43)
What can I do?

 

Just flash Dell vbios and modify the drivers yourself

 

Yeah, I did. I'm not sure if we're talking about the same VBIOS, but it's listed as DELL on techpowerup (although it is the same as Clevo one there byte by, I compared them).
Of course drivers wouldn't install if I didn't modify nvdmi.inf.
Should this GPU work with LVDS anyway? Now I'm willing to try it in clean windows 10 installation with UEFI.

Anyone tried the GTX1060 MXM card on the M6800 or M6700? Heaps of them on fleabay!

 

@JEAMN tried GeForce 1070 and hit the same problems that we have with the Pascal Quadros (but no vBIOS to correct it). There is some discussion in the M6800 graphics card upgrade thread and also this thread:

I don't know why GeForce 1060 wouldn't have the same problem but I haven't seen a post from anyone who has tried it specifically...
