i believe its possible. there are some sold by taobao sellers where the bios chip is soldered back on, the hp model of rtx 4000 which is the only one in mxm doesn't have one presoldered, but i don't know what black magic made the software compatible.

MXM card layout is a bit different... Heatsink mod will be needed but otherwise it looks like there is no trouble getting it to work in a M6700/M6800 (unlike Pascal cards)... assuming that you either have Optimus enabled or an eDP display panel.

A quick question about the dell Precision M6800. Does this laptop support GTX 970m mxm cards with a clevo bios, or will I have to flash an alienware bios?

Clevo vBIOS should work; other users have done it with 980M with no issue.

Sweet, thanks for the information. That's cool, I was hoping I wouldn't have to lose my modified vbios.

The M6800 heatsink will have to be heavily modiffied in order to acomodate this card. Also, what kind of power draw could have an MXM RTX 5000/4000 Version?

These cards are generally maxed at 110W. That's a little higher than the Kepler cards that were originally available for this system. When I tried Pascal P5000 + M6700, I found that putting high load on the GPU would throttle the CPU (presumably due to lack of total available power — GPU gets priority). Another user reported the same thing with M6800 + GeForce 1070.
