Prospective owner here, I just wanted to ask how load does your laptop get during gaming?

M6600 with AMD M6100 and M8900 was much quieter than my current M6800 during gaming. Not whisper quiet but very quiet compared to various consumer grade notebooks that circulated trough my hands.

Regular cleaning, every 6 months = quiet M6600

Does have fan noise, but it is the nice clean whooshing type. No squeal/scream.

Hello M6600 gurus, it's been a fair few years since I've been on the site, and even eclipsing 3 years on my Precision M6600. For all the machine's sleekness and beauty, i've had quite a few thermal issues as of late. A few years ago my AMD FirePro M8900 Mobility Pro graphics card was replaced in an on-site call, and as of late, during gaming it's had significant thermal throttling under what I feel to be only moderate loads - notably, in Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward. At its worst, I saw fps fluctuation from a steady 45 to 50 all the way down to 12-15 fps.

Investigating further with temperature readings from GPU-Z and I discover that within 10 minutes of being in-game, my average GPU temperatures are right around 87-92 degrees Celcius; the field for 'GPU Temp. #2' reads an additional 4 degrees C above this. Naturally seeing 102 degrees C is a bit alarming (and explains what I believe to be throttling), so my question is not 'is this normal' but 'how far past normal' with regard to these temperatures. Additionally i'm not sure if poor thermal performance is covered under warranty? Any help much appreciated.

yea. and somehow there is a black screen flicker once in a while~

If it is still warranty, I think they do help on the issue by cleaning and maybe redo the thermal paste.
If you intend to keep the machine for a while, it isnt that bad to diy.

    Anyone know that do M6600 supported DDR3L (1.35v) ram @ 32GB (1866)?

Happy New Year to everyone in the forum!

Ddr3l works at both 1.35 and 1.5 as opposed to ddr3 that works only with 1.5v. So that ddr3l memory should work fine in your m6600.
