    Thanks Aaron44126,

That's good to know. I will just be using these for data. I have a Windows 7 running so the mirroring approach would work well.

Just to clarify though, as I have a habit of buying the wrong thing, would most enclosures would work in this context? A couple of examples would be really appreciated.

I'm happy to just keep it simple so a USB3 approach would be fine, at the moment I'm considering this:
USB 3.0 RAID Enclosure - Dual Bay USB 3.0 SATA Enclosure | StarTech.com

If the HDDs are used independently but with windows mirroring does anyone see any potential problems with this?

    Thanks,
    Adam

Any enclosure should work as long as it shows up as a standard hard drive to Windows. I haven't used any dual-drive enclosures lately but as long as it shows up as two independent disks you can use Windows for the mirroring.

Here's a link with directions on how to set it up. (Both for creating a mirror from an existing disk, or for creating a new mirror array on two empty disks.)

Having looked through 600 of the 650+ messages I have not found an answer to this question. Hopefully someone can help. I currently have a m6600 with the ATI Video and the 1440x900 LCD. I would like to replace the LCD with the Touchscreen one (I know I will need different bezels and such). Does anyone know of somewhere that one can be purchased? (I have looked through eBay and Google). And/or is the "3D Screen that the m6700 uses the same as the M6600 Touchscreen?

I have found a m6700 3D screen at: Screen for Dell PRECISION M6700. Replacement Laptop LCD Screens

Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Strange "flickering" issue with the M6600 - NOT the LG panel flickering (I have that too, but it's easily bypassed).

Specifically, a few times when I used the notebook undocked (never happened when docked and with external monitor so far) the screen started flickering, at first almost imperceptibly, then in fast succession to the point where the screen was more often dark than lit. It persisted in doing so while booting and in the bios screen - both after a reboot and even after being shut down and turned on immediately.

What instantly cured it - while on - was removing the adapter and immediately reinserting it. At first I thought it was the adapter's fault, especially since I was using a slim 150W (Dell original) charger, or that the M was throwing tantrums because of the low-power adapter.

But then it happened with the original 240W Delta as well.

What could this be? (Hope it's not the mobo dying...)

Get a Flextronics to replace the Delta power supply.

Easily bypass flickering on LG, meaning don't use lowest 3 to 5 gradients of brightness?

I will, but is this known with the Delta? (And last I heard people preferred Deltas... Or?)

    In my case 1-4.

    Thanks!

Too funny, I have Flextronics - never had a problem, so I guess I prefer them; I would change probably if I did :)

I had on another M6600, an LG screen with Delta PS and one time it gave me a violent flicker that even a restart wouldn't cure. Maybe that combo is deadly (I don't have that machine anymore)

Edit: Changed some text above, this new IE11 sometimes whacko!

I guess my impression as to the quality of the adapters came from here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/del...ort-plus-210w-screen-flicker.html#post8948794

I also seem to remember Flextronics had some bad batches of 240W adapters that experienced sudden death (but then most companies have occasional bad batches of what they produce...).

If you're still under warranty, maybe try the Flextronics.

I remember at the time, noticing that the Delta was slightly smaller; Delta's also go bad - there are a couple posts around in here.
