I upgraded the BIOS to A15 from A14 and no issues. Does anyone know what was so "urgent" about the A15 BIOS update? I do not recall seeing a BIOS update marked by Dell as "urgent" before.
    Thanks

Hard to say for sure but I think all BIOS updates are considered urgent. If elapsed time between updates is any indicator, this one probably wasn't desperately urgent since it had been awhile since the last one.

One of BIOS A15's enhancements is an update to the Intel CPU micro code. Does anybody here know if this enables use of Ivy Bridge CPUs ... such as Core i7-3940XM? :)

Don't think that's going to be possible, on mobile platforms Ivy Bridge is not a drop in replacement for Sandy Bridge.

Anyway update to the Intel CPU microcode indicates an update to some tables stored in the CPU itself. It might correct a minor error in some instruction, or it might be a change to make some instructions execute a little faster.

    I am wondering...

Dell released new Bios A15 for M6600 with official:

and M6100 supports AMD Enduro Technology for Workstations:

    AMD FirePro M6100

So M6600 with A15 Bios and FP M6100 supports Enduro ?

No. Enduro requires support from the motherboard which the M6600 does not provide. Enduro is only supported in M4800 and M6800 as far as Precisions go.

I'm reporting back from 2 months ago when my M8900 failed. I have been running on the HD3000 video for the last 2 months now. haha! Wow it sucks! Anyways I have been on the phone with DELL about 5 times for I don't know how many hours over this period of time waiting for the Ownership transfer to go though. See I bought this used last year from a business online and never transfered it. Long story short, I should have got the name of the company or orginal owner when I purchased it, because Dell said they would send out warranty parts right away if I knew who it was verbally even thought the ownership transfer hasnt gone through. Now the business I bought it from won't call me back or answer my emails too look up who they originally bought it from.

Dell knows who the original owner is, but they won't contact them untill the ownership transfer has been submitted online. Well, thats what I am having trouble with. Dell keeps telling me that the ownership transfer team is not getting my information. I have done it 4 times now and each time it successfully has gone through on my end. I decided to just wait 2 more weeks one last time before I give up. Its pretty sad that Dell wont contact them without the ownership transfer request being submitted online. They already have my information I gave it to them on the phone even. At this point I believe Dell is giving me the run around and doesn't want to honor the warranty. I may post this problem in the Dell section to see if maybe it can be resolved. Word of the wise, buy a new dell with coupons or sale, or get the original owners name first before you buy it. haha!

I bought a quadro 1000m for a temporary replacment a few days ago. Well it came and turns out it has hairline cracks in the GPU and missing a couple tiny capacitors! I have to send it back now. More time wasted.

If anyone has a Nvidia card that will work in the M6600 without trouble let me know. 660M, 670M, 3000m, 4000m, 2000m, 1000m

Is there a special driver to use the GTX series cards?

I searched the Dell section here and found a different Dell ownership registration link. I filled it out and submitted it. Maybe this time it will work... Hope the Dell teams don't have my service tag flagged because all the calls and requests before this. LOL!

That is only due to oem-s and intel contracts. I donr know how many of you know bu there was a p67 mbo from asrock with socket 1156 - supporting lynnfield cpus. First gen core i cpus on sb/ib chipset. Profit is only thing sropping inrel form alpwing multiple generations in a single socket...
