Thanks for posting that. I wonder why the CPU clock is different with the same CPU? Power management or something? (Been out of the hardware game for a LOONG time...lol)

What sort of battery life could you expect from the AMD firepro 8900?

    Interesting that MS recommends 8GB.

    Nice!
    RAID?

    Where is the mSSD located?
Are you putting OS and all apps on mSSD?
How did Dell configure the 3 HDs and OS?

No clue. I was plugged in when I ran it. You being in the hardware game at all puts you a step ahead of me. If anyone has any ideas on specifically how to run the test, I'll try to accommodate tomorrow.

Do you mean that based on the WEI or has MS specifically recommended 8GB?

General MS recommendation with Vista and Win7 64-bit OS.
Of course more is better but I suspect WEI won't increase much beyond 8GB.

I will get pics up today. Fed Ex didn't deliver until 3:30 and last night I had just started working on it.

System was set up in Raid/IRRT mode with W7 on the SSD and the two disks as storage 1 and storage 2.

I've just got mine - first test are OK. Two things bother me so far:

    - on the C: drive, there are some folders with drivers; I have no idea whether these are actually installed or to be installed, cause naming is confusing and different from what can be found on Dell web pages... For instance, my BIOS is A03 dated May, and on the webpage the A03 version is dated 6/7/2011 - should I install it anyway?

    - my eSATA port seems to be down (doesn't recognize the drive which is OK with another system), even though eSATA port is ON in the BIOS

    Anyone?
