Sysinternals has a lot of useful tools, I used contig quite a bit in the past. Nothing like defragmenting large files from the command prompt. ;)

Ok this is getting ridiculous - yet again 1 more chi mei was shipped. Guy on the case from tech support swears that no substitutes was selected.

Any1 knows name of the guy or an email that everyone in USA contacted regarding ChiMei replacement?

Or any contact information for someone higher up who could help with getting at least LG panel shipped to this 3rd world country.

I've waited aprox 1 week for a replacement mobo and now i'm almost in my second week after a replacement quadro 3000m. As per customer support here, parts for M6600 are really scarce. They even offered me a replacement product if the card will not be available in maximum 14 days.

The supervisor who I keep talking to tells me that it's a general supply problem in most European countries with parts for m6600, so might be the case for your country also.

Their queue doesn't allow for individual preference. Try calling the US support phone number and see if they'll open/assign a case for you or at least get you in touch with someone with authority to help.

Sometimes you just want to share something good when it crosses your path.
About creating passwords. Also good stuff in the links at the end of the page.

Hey, I had my mobo replaced and I'm in Canada. I got a replacement mobo within a couple days but then that didn't fix it and the second one took close to a week to get. They told me they didn't have them in stock and didn't know when they'd be ready. But then it showed up, I don't know if they prioritized because I complained and was suggesting a new system if they couldn't sort it out. They said a new system would take 2-3 weeks to build so that would take even longer. Anyways, good luck, hope they straighten out your problem.

Pretty much any workstation regardless of manufacturer has an issue with parts availibility.

I'm wondering is there any way to control fans other than Dell Power Manager. While using "ultra performance" I'd like fans to spin as fast as they do in "Cool" preset. Problem with "Cool" is that my cpu is limited only to 1.8ghz and since World of Tanks is pretty much single core game framedrops can sometimes hit hard.

These nice hot summer days in "Ultra performance" gets my gpu (stock) all the way up to 80c and cpu to 70ish. I'm fine with CPU temp since its constantly in "max turbo" mode - but i dont like gpu going that high. By the sound of gpu exhaust vent i can say it spins at around 50-60% when compared to "Cool" preset.

Altho no software fan control was available for my old nc8430 i did manage to regulate fan "levels" according to temperatures via registry. Will try and check if its same procedure for m6600 but since its quite tedious process I was wondering if there is more elegant solution.

Cooling pad will come in next few days as i finally got time to make one and i only miss few screws and some fan retention mechanism. :)
