Make sure you are NOT using the Intel graphics - which will not go higher than 1080p. If you have an NVidia card, make sure the Optimus option is disabled in the BIOS.

Yup, Optimus has been disabled before I even installed windows. Do I need to install any other drivers to enable display port? Chipset drivers?

Edit: or maybe I have to enable display port somewhere?
Also, what's the highest res the m6600 HDMI can go up to? I know the m6700 supports HDMI 1.4 which goes up to the 4ks.

Try select displayport on the monitor menu?

Just to clarify, I can get DVI (monitor) to HDMI (laptop) to work just fine. I tried hdmi to hdmi, for some reason when I chose extend screens it screwed up the computer. As for display port to display port, monitor claims theres nothing. And yes I select the appropriate connection type. Just wondering if I skipped a driver to get the display port working.

Here is the info on my 4000M card and all ports are working fine. Regardless, I have found it is much easier to use it docked in a multi-display environment.

Edit: Turns out I kept using the daisy chain port so that didn't work. All is well.

Anyone with m8900 have success with driver 12.11b and 13.1 with win8? They seem to broke my brightness control via keyboard shortcut.

Try the latest driver version from the Dell website, it says it's for the M6000, but it works fine for me on the M8900. The brightness shortcuts work, outputting to different monitors worked, and best of all, CPCC functioned better than any other driver I've tried, but there are still some missing options.

Looks like the M6600 is no longer offered in the Precision line up.
