Hmmm...I can't reproduce the issue you are having. I put my machine in sleep mode and it goes right away. It also comes back out of sleep fine too. I wonder if maybe its conflicting with some other software/hardware or setting unique to your M6700.

Most likely. I'm just going to have to continue to do without the fingerprint reader (until the time that I have time to figure this out).

    Please help! Anyone!

So normally I have my computer resolution at 1600x900. And it took up the full screen.

I was just playing around with the resolution earlier, and was like "Oh, I wonder what 40 hz refresh rate is like" so I changed it to 40 hz.

All of a sudden the computer screen refreshed, and the viewable part of my screen was not full screen anymore. It was this small part in the center of the monitor.

I was like, ? That's a weird thing to happen when changing refresh rates. So then I changed it back to 60 hz.

Now the problem is, I'm permanently stuck like this... Whenever I lower the resolution, it doesn't go full screen anymore. The screen size shrinks with a lower resolution, and I have to use the dreadful 1920x1080 on this computer, which I don't like to use because it strains my eyes!!! Please help!!

put it back to 1920x1080 and then change the display to 150%

Mine was shipped at 125% and I dropped it back down to 100%

Try that vs running the screen at a non native resolution.

Yeah I tried that and it didn't work. I also tried disabling all the drivers, monitor drivers, and AMD 8900 drivers. This worked. I could now put the resolution at anything and it would resize to fit the whole screen and not have any black borders.

But, I couldn't put the resolution any higher than 1440x1280. So to fix it, I had to reinstall the drivers. Reinstalling I thought would fix the problem, but it had the same problem...

Tenkes, not that I have heard of! I heard it was impossible to do it.

An update on my problem - I was able to fix it, all I had to do was reinstall the operating system! But in all seriousness, that's what I did. It fixed the problem, but I had to uninstall everything I once had :(.

Has anyone gotten the touch screen drivers to work for windows 8 yet? So I have windows 8 professional 64 bit installed and touchscreen on this m6600, and everything works fine. Especially the digitizer, I'm able to draw things using sensitivity, and it just works phenomenally. The touchscreen for multitouch is a different story. It's supposed to have 4 touch points and work flawlessly like this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALJrB7WX4dc, but, I can't get it to work with more than 1 touch point because the drivers aren't compatible with windows 8, even if I run it in compatibility mode for windows 7, it says windows 8 is not a compatible operating system.

I just sent Dell a message about it asking them to update all the drivers to be compatible with Windows 8. Also, I found out the reason why my eyes hurt when I was using this computer. It was because of the glare. So I ordered a matte screen protector online for $17. It's gonna take a month to get here (from China), so what I did was cut out a zip loc bag, and taped it right over the monitor. It works like a charm, all the glare was removed, my eyes don't hurt anymore, though it doesn't look very discrete.
