Is that the grey M6600 or the brown one? Seems brown to me.

It is not really brown. More of a grey with more red in it. The M6500 has more blue in it. It may look more brown because the brown square of the color chart is next to it.

I had posted a picture of the M6600 grey vs the M6500 grey. There is only one color. I am going to get better pictures.

I also found out from the tech guy that I have an M6600 on the way with much better specs than the one I got yesterday. I was just given the wrong one. If the specs that he sent turn out to be true - holy crap this machine will be fast. The M6500 might finally get replaced.

I will also say, that when you buy this machine at least get the 2720QM processor. It is faster than the 920XM or 940XM in the previous generation. Getting an M6600 with a 2620M dual core and saving $140 is just silly. The performance bump is amazing when you get a quad core.

See how the color changes depending on what is next to it and the lighting? M6600 is on the left, M6500 is on the right. Closeup is just the M6600.

Laptop collected. Person I asked was able to collect the laptop, it appears. If they only could drop me a line about it. I asked for it so many times...
Now I need them to check what keyboard is it.
None of you using backlit keyboard guys? What about that initial flash before it starts booting system? Come on guys, I beg you. Need to send instructions to NY.

The Caps Lock light flashes when you hit the power button. The backlit keyboard does not come on unless you hit any key.

Are you saying that backlit is activated when you press a key?
You mean like during the POST?

I received mine yesterday. I have to say I'm not particularly amazed with anything about it.

This trackpad or the software is the worst I've ever used. Scrolling is painful, not as good as Macbook. I would love any tips on this.

I had an issue with my display turning on/off, but I think I fixed it by installing the Control Point drivers again. It would turn off, but I could get it to come back on by changing brightness.

The keyboard flex is a non-issue. I probably wouldn't have noticed it if people weren't making a big deal about it here. I still don't like it as much as my chicklet-style Macbook.

I still have to order my RAM and SSD/HDD to finish it off. I'm still unsure if we can fit 12.5mm drives in here or not.

This thing does stay quite cool. I couldn't get it over 65c running FurMark BurnIn on my bed. If it were on a laptop stand/cooler I don't think it's ever going to be a problem. It's also pretty dead silent at 100% on the fans.
