Can someone who bought Dell M6600 recently extract his Quadro 4000M VBIOS please?
    Thanks!

Ok so after further investigations, I've noticed that the decrease in Graphic performance happens as soon as I plug a screen at the back, and close the lid of the laptop (with or without the docking station).

I used to have a second screen -without- closing the lid, and it works fine, but as soon as the lid get closed, my fps drops drastically.
Re-opening the lid doesn't fix the problem, I have to unplug the screen and restart the M6600 for everything to go back to normal.

    Edit:
Trying to find a solution to my problem all day, I actually run a 3dmark test thingie (that tells you how much i'm NOT a tech savy lol).
    Here are the results:
    SCORE
    P527 3DMarks
    GRAPHICS SCORE
    455
    PHYSICS SCORE
    4063
    COMBINED SCORE
    476

    Isn't that like ... extremely low ?

Seems like a power profile switch when the lid is closed. Check the power settings, I had a similar problem with mine.

I was given a list of available computers to choose from at work today, and I've chosen a reasonably kitted out M6600. I can't wait to get my hands on it and put it through its paces!

    Hye All..

Is it worth it to extend warranty for another 2 years by paying ~US207.00 ?

    - Cover on natural Hardware failure only
    - Engineer onsite service on Next Business Day (provided if parts are available in local warehouse)
    - Exclude battery, wear & tear and cosmetic issue
    - 24*7 priority user technical phone support

    Need your opinions, thanks :hi2:

Ok, I've run a lot of tests in the last few hours.
I ruled out a power saving problem by disabling PowerPlay in catalyst pro, and making sure in windows power management that I was always set on High Performances

The impressions I had that my problem appeared when I closed the lid of my laptop were false, 3dMark and Furmark scores me as bad in both case (it's a bit worse when I used the 24inch screen because i m on a resolution of 1920x1080).
    3dMark score : 524-529
    Furmark score : 70-73

I think untill today I had not really stressed my graphic card much. I was "on the road" for the past 6 months, since I got the laptop, metting clients and such, not doing much developing work and not even playing any graphic intensive games or anything.
Last month I finally settled down back home, hence why I started looking into making my M6600 more how would you say ... desktop-like ... by buying the docking station and the extra screens.
So I can't really say if the graphic card has only started misbehaving, or if it has been like that from the start.

All I know now is I just installed Funcom latest game, The Secret World, and no matter how low I set up the graphic settings (everything down, using directx9) or how high i set them up (everything up, using directx11), my fps stays between 5 to 13 fps.
Even using platforms running OpenGL, i\m still stucked at around 15fps no matter the settings.

I know the Firepro 8900M is not optimised for game, but as far as i know it should still perform a lot better than that, and in my line of work, I need to both be able to run designers softwares AND the rendered platform / final product at a decent speed.

So my question is... is there something i can try ? or does it look like the card is faulty ?

You must have powerplay on in order to for it to work properly, download gpu-z or hwinfo64 to monitor the clock. There is no way to know what's wrong w/o looking at the clocks.

    Thanks Baiii for your advices.

I installed GPU-Z and it fixed my problem.
Yes, you read me correctly, I have no idea what happened. I was done working for the day, read the forums, googled GPU-Z, installed it, then ran a game to test how fast my clock was, and that game was all of a sudden running at 40fps, instead of the 10 it was doing just yesterday.

    I ran 3dmark and scored 3005.

If anyone has any idea of what could have happened, and why by installing GPU-Z it somehow fixed it, I'd be happy to know, quite curious :)

Well, did the 3M vinyl wrap on the lid last night.

I have worked with sign vinyl before, this is a first for this product. Came out well, just need to do the Dell cut out.
