I've tried to use a few HDTV's as monitors and they suck. Decent Samsung and Sony panels.

Definition isn't that great even at native 1080p.

In the end bought an imac 27 which takes DP straight from the M6600 which is IPS 2560x1400 and awesome. (Which runs as a file server / web server)

Very true. They work great for playing games or watching HD movies but they are crappy for any other use.

Hi guys, I don't know if this has been discussed already, but it's hard to sift through a 47 page thread. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the battery life they get with an M6600 with the Firepro M8900 graphics card. From what I understand, it's the most powerful graphics option (business version of 6970m), but has the worst battery life. Just a rough estimate (within 30 minutes accuracy) of how long it lasts on low-medium brightness with Wi-Fi on would be nice. :)

If the battery life isn't 4 hours or so, I think I'll have to get the M17x instead, because I also need to take notes in college lectures with this laptop. However, I would much rather have a business-class machine with a business-class warranty like the M6600.

Thanks in advance for a reply! :)

Ok so I got the OPERATING SYSTEM disk with the laptop which is used to reinstall the operating system on a Dell PC as stated on the cover of the disk. My question is do I put the disk on boot up or? And here's yet another even more silly question since I am a noob regarding this staff do I have to install all the drivers again when I put a fresh new install on the SSD?
