I like this little utility Dell recently released but few know about. I found it to be a very good starting point.

Here is a link to my Spyder 3 Elite profile for the AUO Touchpanel at full brightness. M6600AUOTOUCH.zip

You should be able to load it as an ICC profile. Not sure if you can download the Datacolor Profile Chooser software and load it that way.

I don't see any way Optimus can work with IPS because Intel's integrated GPU doesn't support 10-bit. I also don't see any evidence that any IPS panel equipped M6600s have shipped yet.

    Hi All!

I have just finished reading this ENTIRE thread.... so many posts... On the plus side, as a result I haven't got too many questions left over but I do however have a couple that haven't seemed to be addressed yet.

I have not yet got my M6600 so I haven't had a chance to check it out but so far the laptop would appear to accept two hard drives and a mini sata card. What I haven't seen yet is does this include the replacement optical drive caddy? I am referring to one of these: 2ND SSD HDD HARD DRIVE caddy for dell M4600 M6600 | eBay Or will this caddy allow a third hard drive to be used?

If so, is it SATA III also? I have two 128GB sata III SSD's to go in (not including the msata) once I receive the laptop but if I can use three at sata 3 speeds I'll get another and raid 0 them... woot woot

Can someone please clear up this RAID/AHCI confusion for me? I have read a lot about it but the previous posts assume knowledge of what AHCI is. There has been mentioned something about switching the controller to AHCI mode and breaking windows? What is the benefit of using AHCI and will this not be something I can use if I am to configure my drives in RAID 0? Can windows be installed to a RAID array in the M6600?

Lastly, can the mSata be included in a RAID array?

    Cheers,
    Tim

    1. Reasons to take the NVidia over the AMD?

    2. My struggle is I've grown to like the clear screen over the frosted ones because the text is so incredibly distinct and the screen is so bright. I can't always get a touch on the refurb site. My concern is if I'd be happy with the anti-glare one.

    Thanks

I have an m6600, this maybe a crazy question, but here goes..
It has a QM67 chipset with 6 Gbit/s, 2 Ports & 3 Gbit/s, 4 Ports. From what I was told by Dell, the usb3.0 is on one of the 6 Gbit/s and the express card is on the other 6 Gbit/s. I am using a Blackmagic Design Intensity Shuttle HDMI capture card, works good but I need to add a second one. Would there be any way to open up the m6600 and replace the Express card with a second native usb 3.0 card/ port? There is not enough bandwidth to run the second shuttle from the other usb3 port as they are on the same bus, but if I could access the second bus it should work. Express card to usb3 adapters do not work. Any ideas or help would rock.
    Cheers-
