Unfortunately $1000 Off Cant Hold A Candle When Compared With Previous Discounts Of 25-30% Off

I Think The Previous Statement About Ordering During Off Months Is Valid Cuz Of Quotas And Less Volume So The Best Bet Is Prob After Christmas And I Think Its Worth The Wait

All I can see is unconfirmed reports that you'll have to wait until at least April '12.

No. Rumors that it may be delayed until April?

You can wait for tomorrow's technology all day long because something better is always on the horizon. But sooner or later you are going to have to buy something. :p

From Wikipedia: "Ivy Bridge processors will be backwards-compatible with the Sandy Bridge platform, but require a BIOS/firmware update."

Not sure but it may be possible to do a DIY upgrade on the M6600 and stick an Ivy Bridge CPU in there when they are available. Again, I don't know if Dell will sell Ivy Bridge CPUs in the M6600 when they are available, but I suspect they will wait and include them in a new model.

One question for you guys, two actually, my top lid is slightly warped as if someone kept the lid latched but pulled on both corners. Would Dell be willing to send out a tech to replace the lid or would they just mail me a new lid part?

Also, it seems with optimus enabled I cannot change my screen brightness through fn key or the power options. Is this a known issue?
