Hoooooray!!! Thanks for the great news! I can't wait to buy one. I was also wondering about the M8900. The config page also has issues with noise cancelling mic/webcam.

I have the same wwan device, and I had only 1 bluescreen in nearly 3 months (and that was an usb stuff if I got it right).

I have stock ssd and hdd's. Drivers are factory shipped as well (from august). So I think it must be a hardware failure.

Edit: Sorry I wanted to quote the original poster of the problem.

Well, I myself have the problem described there and since I'm not the only one and since replacement displays have the same issue, I suspect there is a possibility 17,3 panel has it too. Maybe it is technological necessity?

If you have a loto of artifacts during work, I think it depends on a problem of your video card.
Wich software you use? If yo are using Autodesk 3DsMax or Autodesk Autocad did you have tried to install nVidia Performance drivers?

Good XD I hope I will receive a good color lcd:)

Ok, I hope that is the only issue for this product:p

Very good thing, my M6500 after 2 hours is dead :D
    Thank you very much:)
Brown is a very strange color for a Workstation, but when I bought my M6500 I wanted to have the orange one:D
    Grey is too boring:D

Well, I think I can catch up (at least):
    9 or 10 service calls for my M6500 (didn't write them down)->

4 "new" graphics cards (2 new, 2 refurbished)
    3 new motherboards
    2 new screens
2 new I/O boards (USB, eSATA etc.)
    1 new palmrest
    1 new heatsink
    1 new fan

Maybe I forgot a few smaller exchanges :)

As I wrote in the M6500 thread: no more repairs...

    Cheers,
    Alex

PS: Forgot to mention that 2 closer friends (owning an equally equipped M6500) do have the same problems (and the same count of maintenances).

Does anyone know what screen (IPS vs nonIPS) is better for the eyes?

I spent 12 hours a day in front of the screen, most of it writing and reading, but also drawing and scheming and this could make me decide for one screen or the other...

I do engineering simulation using ANSYS products. I didn't know there were nvidia "performance drivers." I'll look into it.
