    Hi Robotti!

I did enter to BIOS and loaded defaults.

I am able now to boot again from any device I want (HDD or DVD).

The weird thing is, how is that a software installation could mess up with the BIOS config?

    Very weird.

Thanks to everyone for your help!!!

I had to reinstall everything and I also lost the factory patition.
    Dell doesn't have this.

So the questions is is there any other way to get hold on this? To get the computer reset to factory settings?

That are great news of course.

As they say in the lottery:
    Anything is possible!
Same here, although it should not be that way.
But now you know that your M6600 is not broken.

That boot issue posses a big question for me

Has anyone seen the youtube video of the m6600 crashing over and over after boot The poster claims that the comp has heat issues but reading here seems theres no prob with heat

Could it be a software prob that causes the crashes in that vid and has anyone had any heat issues with their machine or any issues with random crash

I am also wondering if there is any hardware in particular that has been causing send backs besides CM panel Ive been reading about keyboard issues and fingerprint probs

Looks like it could be a heat issue. Look under the machine - he is running it on a thick overstuffed blanket on top of a bed. No way those vents are getting any air through them. Also, note that when the video starts the M6600 is sitting on the bed so it is probably hot to begin with.

Also, that is not a brand new from the factory Dell. It might be a new Dell with a freshly installed OS, but highly unlikely that it is a factory image.

Many many variables here. Without more details or better video on a proper working surface, I would say this could easily be user error. His other video "I wonder if this is the correct behavior when connecting on usb my Arduino mini pro + mini USB daughter extension" along with his hand soldered USB device could have anything to do with his M6600 malfunctioning.

I could test it myself. Put my laptop on a bed, let it overheat over and over. Build out my own USB device and see what happens if I damage the USB port on the motherboard. Oh wait, the machine got better after the motherboard swap. Hmm. Anyhow...
