Like me and Tom1939 for example.
I do not need measurements. It was enough for me, what I've seen.
It was definitely the worst display I've ever had to face.
Specs may even look good on paper BUT truth has been very different and far away what I would call "premium".
Even the Dell technician was surprised of the extremely weak viewing angle stability of the Chi Mei display. He spoke of a defective panel.
But why is there such a problem only with Chi Mei displays?
Maybe Dell-Mano_G can tell us more...

Those are not accurate numbers... at least for the L11 revision being put in the M6600. I read some good things about the L21 revision in the German forums (used in the Asus consumer laptops), but I do not trust the brand now that I have experienced (2) of these CMO panels and both were horrible (L11's).

To confirm, AUO makes some undesirable panels too. Let me clarify the ones that I consider good and desirable in my evaluations.

    Good:
    AUO B173HW01 v.4 (glossy) - Dell # X919N
    AUO B173HW01 v.5 (matte) - Dell # H8D3K [[no need for v.5]]
    LG/Phillips LP173WF2 [TP A1] - Dell # C30PY
(The LG is a 120Hz capable screen with a 2ms refresh so it is popular on the 3D capable laptops. I have confirmed the M6600 has the eDP header next to the standard LVDS header to support this panel's 50-pin connector, but I cannot yet find the matching cable. If/when one is released and/or found, that panel would be VERY nice for the M6600 and enhance the system's true potential.)

    NOT Good:
AUO B173HW01 v.0 through v.3 (Dell has used # X919N for this as well - BEWARE)
    CMO N173HGE L11 (terrible matte) - Dell # HC9GK

I am not sure if it is still active, but The 20% discount code given to me for any Precision mobile workstation US$1000 and above is: QLNNWRTLD12MFM

    Enjoy,
    Scott

Ok, you are probably right, maybe karma was the wrong choice of word. Guess I should have used voodoo instead.

What I meant was that what goes around comes around. Dell keeps this kind of games up and people will start really questioning whether to buy anything from them.

Good news travels quickly, bad news travels even faster. :(

This is what I have. It is like looking thorough Lacquer.

Thanks Scott! It is good till the end of the month.

I'm getting my M6400 (specs below) replaced by Dell for a brand new (not refurb) M6600. All I know is it will have a core i7 quad core and an Nvidia card, and I want to sell it as soon as it comes in.

Anyone here interested? I would sell it for a hefty chunk off retail.

I think reloader you could also tell where you are from. It will increase your chances of making a deal.

Shoot - my apologies. I'm in the US, will ship to anywhere in North America or Europe as long as payment is made via PayPal.

I'll do a post in the NBR marketplace, but as I don't have the system yet (still in transit from dell) I just wanted to ask here and see if I could give someone who is considering a new M6600 a better deal.

eBay under "reloader-1", for feedback purposes.
