'06 would be great! Also perhaps battlefield 2, crysis 2 or somthing similar. Thank you!

3DMark06 is outdated for an accurate representation of this machine. I prefer 3DMark Vantage or 3DMark11 for better representation. Also, Battlefield 2 will run on max on any of the GPU's offered on the M6600. Crysis 2 will run Near-High with the default textures if you have the 4000M Quadros or the FirePro M8900, Medium-High on the 3000M Quadros assuming you are going to use 1080p.

If you use the DX 11 Patch, the settings are going to be around Medium for the M8900 and the 4000M @ 1080p, Medium-Low on the 3000M with the contingency of lowering the resolution too.

    3DMark 06 was 14,491.

    3DMark Vantage was P8049.

Sounds like Star Forge gave you some good info.

Thanks for your help! Now I gotta decide if 2 hours of additional battery life / not having to wait is worth if for weaker gpu / less color accuracy. I will typically be using the monitor in srgb which supposedly the non ips 1080p can cover. Sure would be nice to have the IPS though...

One other question on the GPU, should I be concerned that the M8900 is hitting 85c? Also why is it that the firepro runs hotter than the quadros when the tdp is lower for the firepro than both quadro cards (75w firepro vs 100w quadro)?

On the UK Dell web site they offer two FHD screens.

    1. 17.3" UltraSharp™ FHD(1920x1080) Wide View Anti-Glare LED-backlit with Premium Panel Guarantee
    2. 17.3" UltraSharp™ FHD(1920x1080) Wide View Anti-Glare LED-backlit Multi-Touch and Pen with Premium Panel Guarantee

    Both are described as "Anti-Glare".

Having seen Bokeh's excelent review, the touch screen shown there seems to be glossy and devoid of any AG.

Is the touch screen AG or not?

Indeed the m8900 is frequently hitting 85c under heavy load. I don't know if we really need to be concerned, the gpu are developed to work under those condition normally. But it s a bit annoying to see such a high temperature. I m currently trying to manually control the fans to force them to always be at max speed under heavy load in order to decrease the gpu temperature. I have found a small trick to realize that but it s a bit tricky and more test are needed.

You would see the mark 06 scores anywhere between 19000 - 20000.

Crysis 2 running at around 30-35 fps with 4xAA, setting all on high.

Now the new problem I'm facing is screen flashing in between.

So i was working yesterday night and suddenly saw a white flash, first I thought I was hallucinating (it was late and I was sleepy) but this evening I was surfing on the web when the same thing happened twice. Any one else having these sort of issues ??

The panel underneath the touch-panel is anti-glare. The touch panel itself does have an anti-glare coating, but it much less pronounced. I will try to get pictures for you.

I have the Multi-touch and there is a fair bit of glare if say, you are outside on a super sunny day. But with screen brightness turned way up this is almost a non issue.

Inside working I have Zero glare issues.

I recently bought an M6600 with 4GB ram and I'm hoping to add 8GB so I have 12GB. I was wondering if anyone knows what is the timing of the stock RAM that it comes with..
    Thanks
