Just about to place my M4800 order, I can't get the backlit keyboard with my order. A UK backlit keyboard is around £100...what a killer. :(

Finally, found a decent deal on M4800 on Outlet that I managed to snap up before it disappears.

    i7-4800MQ
    8GB RAM
    500GB Hybrid Hard Drive
    Quadro K1100M
    FHD screen
    Backlit keyboard

K1100M is a bit of letdown, would have liked K2100M or FirePro M5100, but thankfully they don't seem to be expensive, so I can upgrade for little, but for now, K1100M will do.

No idea when it will ship since I just placed an order like 5 mins ago.

Once when it arrives, I have few things to buy, 128GB/256GB mSATA, docking station, upgrade the RAM to 16GB and maybe buy a drive caddy so I can add in my 750GB Hybrid Drive that I have lying around, or just replace the current 500GB drive.

Do you have a link to the outlet? I've been looking for an M4800 the past few days but haven't seen anything on the website that comes up in a google search. I even looked about an hour ago and saw nothing.

Oh I see. I haven't seen any in the US outlet. They're probably bought by an eBay seller before I can lay my eyes on them.

Yeah, that can be annoying, last 2 days I've been refreshing the outlet like crazy, that paid off.

edit: looking at the order details, it says that ETA on delivery is 25th, that can't be right, is it? I ordered from Outlet so the laptop is already built and configured, isn't that how it works? Outlet consists of units that have been built and cancelled or returned?

My outlet E6540 was like that - I can only presume that the machines are refurbished 'on demand' so to speak, so they have to reimage the machine, test it etc. I later found out that it was a trial machine that came from a German company - so I guess they had to swap out the keyboard and the power cord as well.

    I guess so.

I checked my order details again, it took a step back, went from order processing to order received, meh.

It'd be nice if I could get it this week.

edit: question about Quadro driver, what do you guys use? On the driver download page I can see few options, there's Quadro ODE Graphics Driver, Quadro Performance Driver and drivers specific to stuff like AutoCAD and 3ds Max, I'm gonna ignore the rest and look at the first two, which one do I go for and why?

I've used either drivers on a Quadro 2000M and I haven't noticed any difference, I guess it's going to the same on K1100M.

    Hi,
well I have my m4800 for 2 days now and I have no major issue. No crash or BSoD. I've tested all the video output. Now I have a 24" on Hdmi and a 21" on VGA and it works well with the laptop screen too.
I have the Bios 05 installed : having no issues for now I was wondering if it's good to update to 07. What do you think? If I do the update is it just to launch the .exe in windows?
    Thanks!

If you're having no issues, stay with what you have, unless A07 offer something you really need, which I doubt.

The phrase, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" applies here.
