    1) BIOS version ?
    2) NVidia drivers version?
    3) Windows version?
    4) Is your LCD - QHD+ (3200x1800)?
    5) If you have CPU-Z (CPU-Z CPUID - System & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting)

Try pressing Windows Key + P

and scroll through the different options to see if any of them produce a picture. There's extended, mirror, secondary only, etc.

You're trying to connect a DVI monitor to the VGA port? Does the monitor support DVI-A? This might not work if the DVI monitor doesn't accept analog signals (I'd be surprised if new ones do).
You can get a HDMI->DVI cable cheaply and use the HDMI port.

I have a pretty similar config. - the CPU is one step down but otherwise I think everything's the same.

    1) BIOS version? A06
    2) NVidia drivers version? 9.18.13.2762
    3) Windows version? 8.1
    4) Is your LCD - QHD+ (3200x1800)? Yes
    5) If you have CPU-Z (CPU-Z CPUID - System & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting)
    - your Mainboard and chipset Revision
    - your GPU name and Revision

Thank you! I see that you are using Windows 8.1. Mine is Windows 7 x64.

Trying to figure out the source of this problem, I did a fresh install of Windows 7 x64. Installed all the drivers + latest NVidia drivers and I DO get the problem.

Then I upgrading it to Windows 8 and the problem with Black screen dissipated. So I'm guessing that there is some bug in NVidia drivers (an/or Win7 x64) that is causing the problem.
Hopefully it will be fixed in one of the next driver releases.

    Thanks!
