hi all, new to this thread. i recently did a full system conversion on a cheap m4800 i got for 100 dollars. i replaced the amd gpu with a m2000m nvidia gpu, replaced the i5-4200m for an i7-4800mq, upgraded the ram to 20gb. i then replaced the motherboard, the display housing, and the lcd panel with a nice samsung ips edp panel and an edp motherboard. overall its a damn fast tiny machine. the only upgrade i want is a t1000 or t2000 gpu or maybe an m2200 gpu. but for now its damn fast, and the full system conversion to edp really isn't that bad total i only spent around 300 dollars and 150 of that was the graphics card.

edit: clarifying, the cpu came from a dead machine i got cheaply from a goodwill computer works.

Hi friends, I'm newbie here and sorry for my bad English.
    I bought a used m4800 with 4810mq and fireproof m5100 with windows 10.
The laptop have Bluetooth light and it's off and I can't find Bluetooth driver in device manager , but when I go to dell support page and enter my service tag, it have driver for Bluetooth and when I install it nothing happened.
Is there any way to find that the machine have Bluetooth device and how can I using it.

Check the BIOS that Bluetooth is generally enabled.

I'm not really sure of that :(

I was only hoping that Bluetooth was disabled by the former owner. You could check the original system configuration on the dell Homepage -> Support sites whether the system was build with bluetooth or not. You only need to enter the Service Tag (on the bottom cover or in the Bios).

what wifi card do you have? the bluetooth functionality is part of the wifi card and if your specific wifi card doesn't have the capability to provide bluetooth then you won't have it. you can pretty easily replace the wifi card with a new one that does have bluetooth you just have to keep an eye out for a good deal on one.

Thanks for your help , in dell support page its says that I have "Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 72 60 802.11ac/a/b/g/n 2x2 + Blue tooth 4.0 LE Half Mini Card". So I think I have the device but I don't have the driver in device manager and I can't turn on the Bluetooth light!!

Just bought myself one , M4800 for 200$
    *K1200M, 4800MQ , 16GB RAM , 2 x Good Batteries, 1920x1080 Panel,in really good condition.
    The keyboard only needs replace.

I am thinking on upgrading the panel to 4K , is it compatible ? (I have searched a while, and on eBay there are a lot of people suggesting that it can be fitted with 4K ,even though i had read that only 3200 x 1800 ...
Changing the ram to 32GB because it's "cheap" to get extra RAM.

    Any other suggestions ?
