M4800 Owner's Thread

    I've not had any issues with mine after 5-6 years.

    My old m4800 had issues with crappy magnet sensor.. I ended up destroying the laptop.
    I had taken out its i7 CPU.. and I'll transplant the CPU to Lenovo T540p which came with i5.

    So one anecdotal data point for and one against. Based on that sort of sample size, it feels like a stretch to say it's "best" to remove anything.

    Not just one anecdotal issue. There are several users who had this same problem. M4600 never had this type of issue... so I'm guessing this happens to m4800 series only.
    A guy at m4800 engineering team had a little faulty concept with magnet sensor maybe.

    So, about 4 or 5 anecdotal issues.

    Any links? That all sounds extremely vague.
