Thanks to these 2 guys and their amazing troubleshooting, I was able to upgrade my VAQ10 M4800 (eDP) from 1366x768 to 1080p. The trick was to buy a LP156WF6(SP)(B1) screen. I bought OEM LG and it works flawlessly. Needed one reboot to accept the change and windows to install the driver like most dell laptops I've worked on. I can't thank you two enough!

I also ordered a M2000M along with the Nvidia GPU heatsink (different from AMD) for an upgrade. The AMD card would have random screen tearing on any intensive application or game. Completely unusable.

    Here's the part I ordered: https://www.ebay.com/itm/272982801230
The colors are absolutely beautiful. Pixels are literally perfect. The seller is absolutely top notched. Ordered yesterday afternoon and arrived today. Already installed.

Been reading through this. i snagged an M4800 off ebay for less than 200 and everything works great but the hard drive is incredibly slow. thread says the 2.5 inch bay should be SATA 3 but everything i see reports at SATA 2 and the read write speeds are so slow its not even funny. in my desktop this drive does 120MB/s read and 98 write but in this laptop it does 60 read and 25 write. i cant figure out why. its running windows 10 pro fully updated (i also tested it on each feature update) any ideas?

Can you post specs of your computer? And specs of the disk (complete model number)?
All ports are SATA3 depending on the disk. If the disk is old the port will say its working at SATA2 speeds due to compatibility mode.

Hi, I read that A21 BIOS version introduced BSODs and WHEA errors in logs (whatever WHEA is). How it is in case of A23 BIOS????? I currently have A19 version, all is working, but I am tempted to be up to date and install A23 version, which may provide better meltdown and spectre protection and maybe other improvements.
IS A23 BSODs free? Any disadvantages?
Is possible that my M2000M GPU will stop working after A23 BIOS update?

Does your m2000m came with the laptop or you got it yourself?

I got nVidia m2000m GPU myself and I also have nVidia m1200 which works in my Dell m4800 as well. Hope the A23 BIOS will not render both these cards not working. However not being sure scares me off the BIOS update.

Out of curiosity, your laptop has an lvds panel or an eDP panel?

Neat, that means that I can upgrade if I ever so do desire to an M2000M, I assume you flashed a bios for the laptop to recognize it, would you mind sharing with me which site did you consulted prior that?
