I get eyestrains and headaches too after prolonged useage, however, it's not because of the resolution, for me... it's due to PWM, and the flicker refresh rates.

I would imagine that the QHD IGZO would not use PWM. Although, I also agree with many posters that QHD is sort of not practical for now since it doesn't scale fonts well.. or more over the support is immature and not wide spread yet.

The big question is I guess whether lugging the extra weight is worth it - the M6x00 is to me non-portable (on a semi regular basis), whereas the M4x00 is just about carryable in a backpack. To me the 17-inchers are only worth it if you put/need the flagship GPU in there. Maybe worth considering other makers if FHD is all you need and the GPU on the M4800 didn't bother you.

I will be using Linux(Fedora) for majority(say : 95%) of the time. I am too much accustomed to using Photoshop(not able to get myself accustomed to use GIMP). The drivers will not effect me that much either.

The DELL specs sheet has this:
Support for three storage devices: one 2.5" drive in easy eject drive bay; one 2.5" drive in optical bay caddy; one solid state Mini-Card.

Since I have the optical bay occupied by the blu ray writer, I will need to remove the 500 gb hybrid HDD to accommodate my Samsung 840 Pro 256gb SSD. Too bad, was looking forward to having both the storage device.

Anyway, may be after some time I will buy a 512gb/1 TB SATA SSD.

So, my mSATA should be free to put in a mobile broadband card :).

FHD on 15" actually feels easier on my eyes than 1366 x 768 if I use DPI scaling. DPI scaling makes text bigger but images and text will still be sharper than a lower res screen. I've compared the sharpness of other 15" panels with different resolutions and DPI scaling in person so I've seen the difference.

As mentioned before , it's possible that you are more sensitive to PWM flickering ( used for most LED backlit screens) than other people.

I currently have the HP DV8 18.1" laptop, and its not been too much of a problem for me to lug it around from home to work. It does become an issue during airtravel, but I can manage.

Which scaling do you use on FHD?

I have the same QHD+ screen but running Windows 7: can I use your icc profile the same? I've never calibrated a screen.. I don't know neither how to do it!

    Thanks Steven,

Has anyone else noticed that the mouse moves differently (definitely faster) while Ctrl is being held down?

I often Ctrl-click on links to open in a new tab - it's definitely not a deal breaker, but it is kind of annoying.

Has anyone seen the combination of QHD+ Display and either Dell 1550 or Intel AC-7260 wireless cards in operation in a M4800?
