Optimus and Enduro are both supported, but neither with the QHD+ panel.

Is it a limitation of Intel HD 4600 or is it M4800 drawback only?

Is it true for M3800 as well? Can M3800 use switched graphics (Intel HD 4600) with QHD+ display?

Agreed, if they executed the plan just a little better, it would've been one awesome product, but this seems to be the culmination of poor execution.

M3800 supports Optimus with the QHD+ display. (Or some form of graphics switching, there's been an indication that maybe it's not Optimus, but manual switching.)

It's because you have to have the eDP port for the QHD+ display, and the M4800 is set up with it connected to the discrete GPU only. Doesn't appear to be a limitation of the HD 4600 but rather how it is implemented in this system.

    @Aaron44126 - thanks!

Too bad that it's the design omission of M4800.

Unless Dell will offer re-designed M4801 with Optimus (or Enduro) for QHD+ display, I guess I have to wait for future M4900 or consider another option... :(

    Does M4800 support Intel VT-d?
Can anyone check whether there is an option in the BIOS?

It has nothing to do with m4800 per se. Check the specific cpu that is in the m4800 and see if it has support for vt-d at the intel ark page.

The i7 4800MQ and above have it.

Looks like my order was delayed again. Now it says the 26th and I have to call or it gets cancelled. Anyone else go through this?

Anyone have a M4800 ($1989 model) they were planning to return?

    HI,

I thought someone said they ordered the M4800 with the AMD FirePro and an Intel i7 processor. I just chatted with Dell support and they do not offer that option.

From looking at some websites, it seems like the specs for the AMD FirePro are a lot better than the Nvidia, Is it that big of a difference? ( I have an m4600 with the AMD FirePro and just like it )

Dell has a current sale on the M4800 so I was thinking about ordering one of the 1080's since people have said the battery is eaten up by higher res screen.

If anyone has a coupon code, I'd love to get it sent to me. I'm really thinking about ordering, unless someone thinks the price might fall a bit more before the end of 2013... Dell said the sale might end on Wednesday night.

    thanks
