Good! Any other games you have tried ?

I am actually torn between the M3800 with the QHD screen and the M4800 with the FHD screen (QHD not an option for me for the M4800, my company is buying so not debatable...)

Would any one who has used both of them care to offer an opinion. I won't be running and CAD/3D program, mostly MatLab and R-Studio for statistical analysis and modelling. I was thinking I could use CUDA in the future to accelerate my modelling jobs but as of know this is just a thought...

I've played borderlands 2, but only at 1600x900. Seemed to be fine.

Anyone know if a revised A10 BIOS version will come out?

I remember people had some bad stability problems with A10 but I'm still running it.

I have some stability problems with A10 and I have just noticed that Dell has removed it from the driver page (the latest version is A9 now.) I am not sure if it is safe to downgrade to A9, So I will wait for a new A10 or A11.

    Thanks!

I don't have a low wattage PSU to test for throttling unfortunately, but I did notice that the fans slowly ramp up speed in several stages during the flash, as opposed to just staying at full blast the entire time.

I'll give it a go. I have a 120W for my 6430U and the 180W for my M4800 here at the kitchen table. Got to make sure I have A06 handy first, though.

I'm not expecting anything but crippling speed, though, since that seems to have been an intentional choice by Dell.

Tested. Back to A06. A11 still breaks my PC. Whenever anything other than my 180W or 240W adapter is connected, the CPU gets locked at 800MHz and won't clock up for any reason. Never mind that the battery can only output about 90W peak before it pops, the machine runs perfectly on a 120W adapter. It prefers lower clocks, but even Optimus is functional. The CPU clocks across the entire range, and it doesn't hit Intel Turbo Boost as aggressively, so it clearly sees that it's a 120W adapter and adjusts for that.

I want an answer, Dell. We can keep playing this BS game about how you broke a non-advertised non-feature for now, but sooner or later something security related is going to be fixed in a firmware update, and then I'm going to invoice you for about a dozen 180W adapters, since you arbitrarily made a product stop working after it was sold.

Out of interest, have you tried throttlestop with a 90w adapter?
