The 1920x1080 one. Spatial resolution is fine, color resolution is 6 bits dithered, less than sRGB gamut, and colors change if you tilt the screen or move your head side to side.

Very interesting discussion about the IPS panels from Dell. I have a w520 with the TN screen and I'm not entirely happy with it. Having a hard time calibrating it with any kind of consistency or output from my printers. I've always had good luck with HPs, but $2500 or more for a 8560w with dreamcolor is way more than I want to pay.

I spoke with an DELL online chat rep last night and he told me that the M4700 had an IPS panel. So who in the heck do I believe? I don't want to order one only to find out it has a TN panel. He actually looked it up and sent me a link to a more detailed spec sheet than the vague one online. It definetely says IPS panel.

For now I'm sticking with my w520. I had trouble with Dell not standing behind a screwup on an order that was entirely their fault 15 years ago so they have missed out on my purchases in that time period. I went HP mostly , but last year I went Lenovo - w520 & u300s.

Perhaps their literature hasn't been updated to reflect dropping the IPS panels and the chat rep only had that to go by. If that's the case i don't think I want to stick my neck out for them to chop off again.

I take it you're ordering from the US.
If you are going through the ordering process with Dell, make sure it doesn't have any of the following SKU numbers for the screen:

When you check the description of the screen, it should clearly mention IPS in the option, make sure of that.
