Does this laptop do quad interleaved memory? or just dual interleaved?
I could have gotten 4 of the same dimms, but thought that it only did dual.... but If it does do quad, I can adjust my memory quickly.

Well, I am a new owner of Dell m4700. I was able to pick one off the outlet for 605.20 with a 20% coupon:

    i5-3340
    750 gig HD
    4 megs ram
    1920x1080 screen
    M4000 graphics

I was hoping for an i7 but the FHD screen, warranty, and the price were too good to pass up! I had to burn a $200 promo gift card....

Well, my 4700 just arrived and I must say the screen is the absolute worst I have seen for a 1080. I used HWINFO and it is a chi-mei. Talk about grainy and washed out.... This is going to have to be replaced or it is going to have to go back. I can't believe Dell would stick this screen in its Precision line.

Try to explain your concerns about the quality of screen to dell and they may replace it. The Samsung panel which is also used by dell on this model is ok as far as I recall, at least it had no grain. But I replaced it for the AUO V4 anyways.

Thanks, I was looking at the AUO V4 and it is still in stock. I think I will try the Samsung first and see how that looks. I have no problem replacing the panel myself - Hopefully Dell will just send it to me and I can send the old one back.

I had a horrendous screen, grainy from day one and detiorated from there.

After a few months flickering got worse and worse -- Dell finally agreed to replace the machine.

Think the original had an AU Optimus panel or something similarly named, can't remember. New one identifies as CMN, whatever that is.

Anyway, new screen is worlds better, no flickering, can't see the pixels, etc. (previous screen was a joke, could literally see the pixelation from a few feet away, absurd).

    Good luck

Does anyone know the model number for the Samsung 1920x1080 screen by chance? I cannot seem to find it. The one posted earlier in the thread does not appear to be correct.

    Thanks
