Anyone install windows 8 on the M4700?

I just installed my TechNet RTM version and it works great. I was able to get around some driver install issues by disabling the driver signature verification... but there are some drivers I still cant get to work.

    Anyone else have any successes?

@Bokeh : Back from vacation now, received my M6700 and it has also minimal corner tint (left magenta right green) but I won't do any changes again I think, it looks acceptable to me as it is really small in the corners. Bt the question is : From what the hell is this coming from, now it can't be the 15" panel anymore :D
Maybe it's a configuration thing... Something like antennas that distort the signal there?!? Do you also have a Intel 6300 installed?

about the ssd in the wwan slot: ok , so i wonder if it will be noticible or if just the benchmarsk are slower.

@tsc25: well somehow its good to see that not just the small models has a problem :p
hopefully the problem will not grow so that you need to change it later.

Boot times will be a few seconds slower (i get ~25secs on my G73), but in programs and everyday use, you won't see a difference. The difference between SATA II and III SSDs is nothing like the jump form HDD to SSD, it's minimal.

Thanks to all who replied. Sadly it appears 8GB is the minimum you can get, so I'll just have to end up with 24GB ;o)

hmm, I don't like it that much as you I think ;) but I was really surprised because I didn't read of it in 17" models, also not from HP I as far as I can remember, but I am not reading the whole net of course. So because of that I was wondering if something special in the configuration may cause this effect...

Just ordered mine with 1x2GB and 64bit Win7 (UK). And 4x4GB 1600MHz separately. Was much cheaper, even with generous discount from Dell. (although have now idea how 16 gig will be utilised. But 8GB seemed not enough and 16 is just next round number)

CFD will fill 16GB pretty fast, CAD and graphic design will also fill it up pretty quickly. Going nuts with programs and browser tabs can also do that. In any case, superfetch will make use of it. :D
