Quick question: What size screw do I need to install an mSATA card and where can I purchase it? I have bought the Crucial M4 256GB mSATA. I was hoping there would be a spare screw inside the notebook, but there is not.

So according to this review the standard FHD TN panel is worse than the one of M4600 (lower max brightness, substandard color gamut). People on this forum have reported that their M4700 came with a Samsung panel whereas the unit reviewed by notebookcheck is LG. I wonder if the Samsung one is better.

appomo: During that extra week or so you had to wait, had the Dell tracker already said "Shipped"?

no,but the good thing is that it arrived earlyer then the estimated date on the invoice.
when you are really concerned about it you should contact your dell contact guy.

It looks like notebookcheck reviewed an IPS model. Perhaps it was in sRGB mode?

Also, it doesn't look like you can configure the m4700 with IPS anymore...

They reviewed both the RGB and regular panel. You just need to add the fingerprint reader to add the IPS option.

My screen was the Samsung 156HT dell PN GJHY2

I believe its a M2 3mm screw. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Hmm. That does not appear to work on the US site, though it does do the trick on European portals at least.

look up computer repair shop near you on google maps. call them up and ask them if they repair laptops, and if yes if you can come by to buy a few screws. in my case a shop was less than a mile away from me and they sold me 3 screws for $2. i took a screw from the wifi card with me to compared it to the ones they had. all 3 screws i bought fit more or less as well as the original screw.

you will want to make sure you have pretty good eyes if you hope to tell whether you're buying the right screws though.

it turns out this is a fairly standard type of screw in laptops. it looked unfamiliar to me because i only worked on desktops before. but any shop that repairs laptops will probably have them.

hehe. i have no connection to Apple. all right, the OP doesn't want any Apple talk so i will stop now.
