I also liked IPS very much. But if one is not professionally dealing with graphics/photo, WLED might be good as well. My collegue have Sony VAIO F11S1, which has TN screen but still very good quality (though with CCFL backlight) - quite good angles and wide palette.

Is it much worse? I mean the colors?
I don't know what to do. It would be very useful if @BeamerPhoto said something. If it is design problem and every display has this issue, I will probably go for WLED display, but if not I have time, I can wait till Dell solves this problem.

Well, i dont know what to tell you. it just that u already using the best screen out there, now come back to a WLED ? it really up to you. tough choice, i almost cried when i first turn on the WLed lol. oh well but i get 5h of battery life for nothing that need the dedicated video card.
also I am thinking of getting a B156HW01 V.4, it offer 96% gamut. now just waiting to see what dell customer care will give me.

I think, I will wait month or so to see if M6600 users with IPS screen have the same issue. If they don't I will request proper IPS for my M4600, if they do, I will request WLED. :)

Well for someone who's considering the purchase of a Precision with an IPS screen this thread isn't very encouraging. I'm just hoping there are many more owners who are happy with their screens and just not part of the conversation. You are there aren't you?

A question though for those with the M4600...how much does it weigh. Not how much Dell says it weights..how much does yours weight.

Keep on posting please so I know which screen to go with.

Well, since there are couple of us here and since replacement displays have the same issue (me and 4 times lman123), I would say it is probable that you will have it too... :)

Well keep us posted. While the 4600 is heavy compared to the Lenovo W520 I have this stupid brand loyalty to Dell and two E docks that will work with a 4600. Always a trade off and never easy.
