If you read my other post in this thread, i had an offer to "upgrade" my IPS to an LED panel. i asked what is that led screen the Dell tech told me it a non IPS, but better than the IPS. i dont know how true that is or the guy just dont know what he talk about. i should have say yes though. anyway i got an exchange system but the problem is there so i will have a tech come out to replace the screen today, if it not gonna fix the problem i will try to see if they offer that upgrade again.

Can every one post there date of manufacture for your IPS here ? i want to collect data to see if it is just a bad batch or it is a long time problem.

According to hwinfo64 it is Week 0, Year 2010
After having your display replaced, please report back to forum, if your problem was solved.

M-z: premiercolor also reports my ips panel to be a week 00 2010 thing. However, I doubt that the readout works correctly

lman123 was asking for this, not me. Though I agree that this number seems "too round".

@lman123 - how was the tech visit?

It is a pity that @BeamerPhoto hasn't told us yet, if his repair was successful (in terms of this thread).

@lman123: That is certainly something to think about (I mean the proposition to exchange IPS for WLED). I'm not sure that Dell Poland would also be so considerate... ;)

I have been thinking about it. It really bugging me for as long as i have this laptop already. i have got motherboard replace, 4 IPS screens replace, 2 LVDS rgb cables, 2 video cards but none fix the problem.

I will try to talk to a customer service rep to see if they will reimburse me for the downgrade. heck, i might even do it if they dont. I will make sure optimus will work though. will update with result later.

I also tried to contact beamerphoto but havent hear back from him yet

Thanks for sharing your experience with us. I would love to hear from you, when you revert to WLED display. Then I will decide, what to do (I hope my Dell will also offer me the downgrade option).

Here is what i got after talking with Dell tech. They will send out a Samsung LED panel with of course optimus enabled motherboard. which will took awhile because of back order parts. so i will update once i got it in.
They also offer some compensate/reimburse. i asked if they can throw in the msata ssd drive but they said no because of nature disaster in Thailand they are short in supply . they offer me upgrade memory or bluray drive but i say no. So they ask me to talk to customer care for partial refund.

Anyway it kinda suck that i am downgrading, part of me love the IPS screen, but the other part hated so much because of all the trouble i have to go through. it been like over a month with multiple visits from tech, all this took a lot of my time not including the time i have to deal with agent over the phone and such.
