M6600 with IPS screen was released later than M4600, so maybe they ironed out a few wrinkles there. But there is no particular reason for M4600 to be more susceptible to this problem. After all it is the same technology.
The people I asked said they hadn't got this problem on M6600. But so did some M4600 owners too.

Well, so I guess it's pure luck. Did you order from DELL directly?

    No, not directly from Dell.

blindzior, yes I think it is pure luck if you get a good or bad display. I had a HP 8560w with Dreamcolor with the same tint problem (green and red color on the left corner, red color on the right corner) and after two replacements I did give them the machine back. It did not make sense to me to spend time and money and to hope that machine x will work properly.

    Best luck for your decision.

@blindzior: This non-uniformity of backlight is not the problem which concerns me most. You should be looking at white/light gray screen. And then you most probably would see this green and/or pink tint.
But I am not sure it can be caught on picture. I tried, but it is not clearly visible.

You are right, left a little greenish and right pinkish. Noticed it right now. I really don't mind at the moment since I moved from T420s and T410s -- no comparison whatsoever with DELLs, so I sure can live with this issue :))

BTW. M-Z do you know if there is M4600 compatible 2nd HDD caddy instead of DVD on Polish market?

Well, if it is small enough I agree. But if not - it could be annoying.
