the closest i can think of which i've seen in a store is the acer aspire 6930, 1920x1080 resolution.

maybe you can check that out. its 16" 16:9 but the font sizes etc looked very similar to mine.

i think sony sells a couple of HD models, maybe check out a sony store near you?

    Another pic: E6500 vs M20 vs E6400.

    E6500 & E6400: WXGA+ LED (1440x900)
    M20: SXGA+ (1400x1050)

I only need a WUXGA 15,4" to compare!! xD

the absolute killer app of WUXGA for me is the ability to display two windows very comfortably next to each other.....its really like having a dual monitor solution lol.

also when im surfing the net i can keep a few msn windows open next to firefox...

i hate minimizing to switch windows haha...gotten so used to the extra screen space, when i use other notebooks i feel like im using something ancient because of the lower resolution

I have WUXGA + Vista + 15.4". Visual acuity, and minimization of aliasing is the primary reason why I like this resolution.

Once you use WUXGA in 15.4" format, you'll probably never be able to return to using something lesser. Not only will you miss the on-screen 'real estate', but you'll just be fatigued looking at fonts that are more pixelated (ie: aliased).

Why cant you just increase the font size if needed in the program itseld (in eclipse etc) ?
I do coding/typing and I prefer the WUXGA 15.4' over WSXGA+. I increase the font size in eclipse/emacs etc to make it easier to read.
Same physical font size in WUXGA is easier to read than in lower res screens.

Yes, I've already thought to increase the font size in the development programs (eclipse, Zend, dreamweaver...), if I need it.

However, I think that the greater inconvenience could be surfing the net, using thunderbird, etc...

I use the laptop about 10-14 hours daily!!

Firefox and thunderbirf also allow font rescaling. I do it on my 17" WUXGA :)
