Hmm yeah, that makes it difficult. Maybe call Dell and tell them you want a replacement but can't receive it now since you happen to be in a Dell-less country right now. They can't really give you a hard time for travelling with your laptop, especially since it's a business system ;) Just call it in so you've at least notified them of your issues and tell them you'll let them know whenever you get to a place where they can ship it.

Maybe they will even ship it to a country that doesn't have it's own Dell office? Shouldn't really matter actually...if they really can't do that tell em you're willing to put up with these issues that you REALLY shouldn't have to if they have a spanking new system ready for you when you get to a different country. Or maybe just let them send it to a friend/relative who can send it on to you?

Just thinking of all possibilities ;)

and yeah...where are you now then??

Some people have found that turning off the eSATA port helps it...

do you think Dell may update some drivers that may resolve this issue?

Who knows, maybe it's not a Dell driver issue but an Intel one, no idea...it's a combination of these anyway

I think the simple solution is to demand a refund.

Its absolute nonsense that three generations of laptops later, Dell STILL hasn't fixed the audio issues on there laptops... yet other companies' laptops have no issues.

    BAH!

on a side note, I recently installed Windows 7 to see how things were like.

I've been running XP with no audio stutter problems and thought I was safe. Installed Windows 7 today to give it a go and now I am stuttering like mad. Not resolved for me.
