The BIOS change DOES NOT CONCERN AUDIO ISSUES...lol...like i said a couple posts earlier...Xirurg asked me about the downclocking issue which IS fixed by installing BIOS versions A02 or A03....for your audio problem DISABLE MODULAR BAY IN BIOS!!!!....please...just do it and look what that does.

download dpc latency checker...install and run it and you will see red bars.
disable the DVD/Modular bay in BIOS and you'll see the latency checker show either green bars, green-red-green-red etc. or just the occasional red bar every 1 1/2 minute or so.
If there's still red bars continue to disable the LAN...not the WLAN yet, just the LAN......still red bars? Disable WLAN and/or eSATA in BIOS

what i did to determine the culprit is disable everything not needed to start up in both the BIOS and device manager and then switch devices back on 1 at a time to see at which point the latency came back....this taught me that with me it was ONLY the DVD/Modular Bay and the LAN....with others it's eSATA and WLAN or other devices

PLEASE DO THIS FIRST BEFORE THINKING UP NEW THEORIES!! ;)
Seriously i learned all this by just reading the threads that are already there...just make notes while reading them and then try it out or something.

That post was more meant for Goren, it's no use thinking of other reasons for the downclocking while staying on a BIOS that is known too cause it.

I'd try A02 if i were you;)...A03 works for some but A02 almost always does the trick...if that doesn't help, time to get it replaced!
I've been going back to A02 after every BIOS update and it causes no other issues or anything, machine is rock solid.

    hope it helps

a03 was the best for me, although i dint get any GPU downclocking. in the other bios-es my cpu refused to run at more than 50% of its max frequency.

93 sounds very high, are u using hwmonitor?

also have u tried calling dell? i dint have to disable anything to get my sound issues fixed. i cant remember the exact steps (it was in the morning and i was very hungover) that dell gave me, but it worked like a charm!

I did what you said. I reinstalled Vista and went into bios..turns out enabling E-Sata causes the audio stutter.
but I'm not too fond of the idea of having to turn off a feature of my laptop in order to have it function properly. :(

You're right...i'm just lucky it's the DVD iso eSATA...i hardly use the DVD anyway but i would be pissed if it was the eSATA which i use all the time for my ext. HDD.

I would get it replaced, point your rep to this thread or other thread on this issue here and tell him/her you tried all this if they tell you to try different drivers etc. and say it's needs to be replaced. Some systems don't expierence any stutter/crackling so maybe you get lucky with the new one?

You don't have international support? Though that was default for the m4400
