Same - found some additional info which I posted in the Latitude 7450 Owners' Thread about possible options. Would be AMAZING if even a 256GB PCIe SSD came out that was super fast. I know the HP 820 G2 models are meant to have this, but I couldn't wait that long so got my E7250 earlier this week and despite the storage I am very very happy with it.

exactly the reason i wound up in this thread. Hopefully there is a M.2 drive out there that works with out Dell 7450/7250. Ideally PCIe, but i would settle for SATA, i just want to have the dual drive set up i had with my old 7440.

Quick question for E7250 owners: I have the i7 version but this unit gets pretty hot and the fan spins always at high speed. Whenever I watch a youtube video the fans goes full speed and temps go above 85 degrees. In gaming it stais at 95-97 and reaches even 100. Is my unit faulty or does yours get so hot. From what I remeber the E7240 was a lot cooler.

I would consider that tempteratures over 85C would justify asking Dell to send someone to service the cooling system. It's possible that the thermal paste wasn't applied very carefully during assembly.

You will find instructions for removing / replacing the heatsink assembly on pages 28/29 of the E7250 manual. Don't remove the heatsink unless you have some new thermal paste ready and don't apply too much paste - it's only for filling any microscopic voids between CPU and heatsink.

While the computer is open you should also remove the fan and check that everything is clean and free from fluff.

I just got the i7 with 16GB Ram and the fan just howls when plugged in, not battery.

Plus, we have to stay on W7 and there is no OCD or on screen display for volume and brightness.

I've always found that disabling the turbo function on my machines made them cooler. Turbo added a lot of voltage, so disable it in the bios or via throttlestop. No you don't lose any real world preformance.
